Call for Papers
Folklore Society of Assam (FSA) is a non-profit socio-cultural organization engaged for documenting and doing research on folklore materials of Assam as well as North East India. It was established in 1969under Society Act,1860. The founder president of the society was Prof. Praphulla datta Goswami and Secretary was Dr. Promod Chandra Bhattachya. Janakristi, a peer reviewed research journal of Folklore Society of Assam bearing ISSN No. 0974-6188, published annually by Folklore Society of Assam, Guwahati, Assam. The 5th issue of the journal will be released soon. Hence, we invite research article for this issue. The research articles sent to the journal for publication must be original work of researchers or authors. The main focus area of the journal is on folklore of Assam in particular and Northeast India in general.
Guidelines for the Authors
All the research papers and articles should be submitted via email in soft copy typed in MS word along with a PDF file and a hard copy.
Papers sent for publication should maintain the following norms.
- The paper should be written in either English or Assamese within 4500 words along with key words and an abstract containing not more than 150 words.
- For English language, it should be typed in Times New Roman 12 point font with double space with 3cm margin on all sides in A4 size.
- For Assamese language, it should be typed in Ramdhenu 12 point font with double space with 3cm margin on all sides in A4 size.
- The Photographs and drawings should be in jpg format with proper captions.
- The end notes and references should be in APA style.
- A profile of the authors not more than 100 words and his or her postal address should be sent along with the paper.
- Any special font file, if used, should be sent along with the paper.
- The soft copy should be sent to the email id given below.

The authors will be solely responsible for factual accuracy of their contributions.
Registration fees: The author must pay Rs. 500/-(Rupees five hundred) only and is requested to send a screen shot of payment receipt along with the paper.
Plagiarism Policy
All the papers submitted to this journal will be checked for plagiarism through recognized software on the basis of the principles and guidelines set by UGC and other high standard academic bodies.
Review Policy
Only submissions which are original unpublished work of the author will be considered for publication in the Journal after review. There will be a pre review of the submitted papers by the editorial team. Papers outside the scope of the journal as stated above or as stated in particular call for Paper, will be rejected immediately after this pre-review process. It will be followed by a peer review of the selected papers. The reviewers will remain anonymous. At the end of the review papers will be divided into the following categories.
- Approved for publication: Papers of this category will be published without needing any significant alterations.
- Required minor revision: Papers of this category will be published with incorporation of minor changes and suggestions from reviewer committee.
- Required major revision: Papers of this categories will have to go through significant changes and modifications. These papers will be published only after incorporating the suggested revision by the review committee or by justifying denial to make the suggested changes by the author, subject to the satisfaction of the review committee.
- Rejected: Papers of this category will be summarily rejected on the basis of the comments of the review committee.
